Toorak Lightwell Residence

A Calm Interior Defined by Light and Material Balance

A refined Toorak residence shaped by natural light, warm timber joinery and calm material restraint.

Toorak Lightwell Residence is a quiet exploration of light, texture and functional detail. Across the study, bathroom, entry and circulation areas, custom joinery is used to create a sense of order while allowing the natural materials to remain the focus.

Soft oak tones, terrazzo surfaces, muted stone finishes and carefully selected styling pieces come together to create a home that feels calm, considered and highly liveable.

The interior concept balances warm timber, neutral stone textures, black detailing and soft natural light to create a refined atmosphere with a sense of everyday ease.

Across the bathrooms, study and surrounding interior spaces, Fantaci delivered a cohesive cabinetry and joinery solution that brings consistency to the whole home while responding to the needs of each area.

Kitchen

The kitchen is the central feature of the apartment, designed as both a functional cooking space and a warm gathering point. A soft neutral cabinetry palette is paired with Verona White stone surfaces, creating a bright and elegant foundation. The island introduces a sculptural quality, while timber shelving brings warmth and display functionality to the space. A gunmetal kitchen faucet and black appliances add definition without overpowering the overall softness of the design. The layout was carefully planned to maximise storage and usability within the apartment setting, with integrated cabinetry, open display shelving and a considered balance between concealed and visible elements.

Bathroom

The bathrooms continue the home’s material story with grey terrazzo wall tiles, light timber vanities and refined black fixtures. The combination creates a calm, contemporary bathroom environment that feels tactile and grounded. A floating vanity gives the room a lighter visual weight, while the circular mirror introduces a soft geometric counterpoint to the stronger lines of the stone and glass. The styling remains simple and consistent, with folded towels, ceramic accessories and subtle greenery adding warmth to the stone-heavy palette. In selected areas, a darker vertical mosaic tile is introduced to complement the terrazzo, adding contrast and a more layered architectural finish.

Study Room

The study area is designed as a calm and efficient workspace within the home. Built-in cabinetry frames the desk area, offering both display and storage while keeping the footprint compact. The material palette remains consistent with the rest of the residence: light oak cabinetry, darker timber shelving accents, neutral carpet and soft white walls. The result is a workspace that feels practical but not overly office-like — a comfortable corner for reading, working and daily organisation.
